Brazil is one of the most incredible countries in the world. This is a tourist destinations that will take your breath away. There are so many amazing tourist attractions that will keep you busy during your vacation here. There is something for everyone in Brazil. Some of the best beaches in the world, the most beautiful landscapes, incredible rainforests and so many other interesting things to visit. Here in Brazil, you have the largest biodiversity probably in the world, there are some of the greatest festivals and various traditions, as well as the well known wealthy past this country has.

Brazil is the largest country in the continent of South America. It is located in the eastern part of the continent and it is sharing the border with pretty much every country in South America. The only countries that are not bordering with Brazil are Ecuador and Chile. In the Atlantic Ocean are located some group of islands that belongs to Brazil. Most famous are San Pablo and San Pedro.

Being extended on such a big area is a reason why there are so many different geographical areas in Brazil.
There are even different climates, in some parts there are high mountains, plains and large tropical forests and in some parts there are dry and semi-arid regions. Some of the largest Rainforests in Brazil are the Amazon Rainforest and the Atlantic Rainforest. Amazon Rainforest is the world's biggest biological diversity.

You will never regret if you decide to visit this beautiful tourist destination. The country is full with surprises. The most important and interesting things about Brazil are the Brazilian people. They are well known by their free spirit and the friendly way of communicating with foreigners and tourists. The variability of cultures and races in Brazil is overwhelming, the cities are great, modern and wonderful, the ecosystems are in wide range. Another great attraction in Brazil is football (soccer). This is one of the reason why this country is so famous around the world. As football is the most popular sports in the world, and the Brazilian football team is always among the best football teams in the world, it is not difficult to know about this country. This country has always given to the world some of the best players that ever played this sport and won the World Cup more than any other country on Earth.

Other thing that is also a great tourist attraction in Brazil is the Rio de Janeiro carnival that is happening every year. This is known as one of the greatest party in the continent that last for four days and brings millions of tourists from around the continent and the world. Pretty much all of the music played during Rio Carnival is samba. It is an original Brazilian music arising from Rio, a dance form that was made-up by the poor Afro-Brazilians many years ago. This is not the only carnival going on in Brazil, but it is definitely the most famous. Other carnivals that are happening in Brazil are Salvador Bahia, Recife Carnival etc.

Brazil boasts some of the greatest beaches in the world. If your idea for a great luxury vacation is a great hotel, sunny beach, crystal clear water, golden sands with beautiful palm trees, there is no doubt that Brazil will be your top travel destination. There is no bad time to go on a beach in Brazil. Beaches are crowded during all the year and people from all the world spend their vacation here.

The Brazilian coast is almost 3,000 km long, so you have all kind of different beaches there. This is like you are going from one country to an other. If you go along the coast, you will find different languages, culture, behavior etc. Some of the most popular beaches there are Copacabana and Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro, Espelho and Morro do Sao Paulo in Bahia, and one of the most famous beach in Brazil is Jericoacoará, considered the place to visit if you want to see some of the most spectacular sunsets in Brazil.

Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue is 120 ft tall and has a weight of 635 tones. It is now a part of the new Seven Wonders of the World. It is located in the Corcovado Mountain which is at a peak of 700 meters i.e. 2,300 feet in the Tujuca forest National Park overlooking the city. The statue is made of concrete and soapstone. As a symbol of Christianity, it has become an important icon of Brazil, with Jesus Christ appearing to open his arms wide to embrace the entire city below.

It was in 1850’s when for the first time it was suggested to make the statue of Christ on the top of Carcovado by a catholic priest called Pedro Maria Boss. The request of the finance was sent to Princess Isabel to build this huge religious mountain. Initially, the idea was not thought to be a very good one. It was only in 1921, when a need and a proposal of a large landmark were thought about and finally the statue was made by the catholic Circle of Rio.

During this time, in order to gain more publicity, a group organized an event for a week where donations were taken from the public and signatures were taken for those who were in favor of the making of the statue. Most of the donations came from the Brazilian Catholics. A lot of suggestions were given; some suggest that the cross of the Christ should be represented along with Christ, or an idol of Jesus with a globe in his hands. But finally, a statue of Jesus with open arms was chosen. Construction of this religious symbol took nine years to complete, beginning in 1922 and ending in 1931. The brilliance of its engineers was revealed when it was struck by lightning in February of 2008 during an electrical storm. Several trees were felled by that storm, but the statue was left unscathed, owing to the fact that it was made with a top layer of soapstone, which is a good insulator.

Devotees flock to the site to get a sense of the peace and hope it provides, and ordinary tourists approach it to appease their curiosity regarding the spirituality that this statue evokes on most people. Once in Rio, you could get a taxi that will bring you straight to the top of the mountain where Christ awaits. But if you want to take a more scenic route, then you need to go to Rua Cosme Velho 513 to purchase tickets for the train that will take you uphill.
